ARCHSTONE AT SWIFT CREEK APARTMENTS | Richmond, VA

Joan worked on several apartment projects with the well-known apartment community developer Archstone, who was recently purchased by Equity Residential and Avalon Bay.  The two projects shown here ranged from 100 units to 400 units of newly constructed luxury apartments.  The landscape architecture on the project included the planning, layout, and grading of the building, roads and parking, the sales center and clubhouse, the amenity area, the mail centers, and the waste collection area.  The design for the amenities consisted of a swimming pool, playground, sand volleyball court, and 10 acres of forested recreation area with nature trails.  Other design elements in the scope included a large signage feature on a major intersection, as well as all columns, fences, gates, steps, ramps, paving, site lighting, planting and irrigation design.  Reece, Hoopes & Fincher was the prime.
